Yoleidy Rosario-Hernandez (ze/zir/ellx) is a multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and photographer whose work centers identity, memory, and heritage while exploring how cultural resilience and a shared sense of place shape who we are. As the founder of Ujima Studios, Yoleidy creates photography and film rooted in storytelling that is honest, intentional, and people-centered. Whether capturing portraits, producing documentaries, or collaborating on branded content, zir work reflects a deep respect for the lives, histories, and voices of those being seen.

With a background in performance, theater, and social practice, Yoleidy brings a layered and thoughtful approach to visual storytelling. Ze often blends disciplines—photography, video, poetry, and movement—to craft imagery that feels emotionally grounded and visually striking. Ujima Studios offers services ranging from editorial portrait sessions and creative branding to documentary filmmaking, always with a focus on care, connection, and cultural context.

Yoleidy is also the Founder and Artistic Director of Mosaic Movements, an interdisciplinary arts organization dedicated to uplifting diasporic narratives and nurturing the development of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists through performance, storytelling, and cultural organizing.

Recent projects include Warriors of Sarasota, a film and photography series celebrating Black and Latinx women leading change in their communities, and Tangled Roots, a poetic multimedia work exploring queer Afro-Dominican and Taíno identity, lineage, and healing. These works reflect Yoleidy’s ongoing commitment to telling stories that hold weight—stories that honor both struggle and joy, and that create space for reflection, connection, and belonging.

Through Ujima Studios, Yoleidy continues to build a creative practice rooted in justice, liberation, and representation. Visual storytelling becomes a tool for truth-telling, connection, and cultural affirmation—offering clients and collaborators work that is both deeply meaningful and visually powerful, and that speaks with purpose.
